Wellington, Graham sign with Brave for Super Smash - Vincent Jones

Two overseas players will be looking to make their mark on the Super Smash this coming season. Amanda-Jade Wellington (Australia) and Phoebe Graham (England) will be appearing for the Northern Brave Women this season. The Brave announced the signings of these two players this afternoon as they prepare for their opening game of the season, on Friday at Seddon Park. Below, are two player profiles and information about Wellington and Graham.


Amanda-Jade Wellington

Teams: Australia, Adelaide Strikers, Otago, Southern Brave


International Statistics:

Tests- 1 test (2 wickets, BBI: 1/61, BBM: 2/130)

ODI- 14 ODIs (18 wickets, BBI: 3/24)

T20I- 8 T20Is (10 wickets, BBI: 4/16)


Amanda-Jade Wellington is a right-arm leg spinner, who currently represents South Australia in the WNCL and has played internationally for Australia as well, including playing at the 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup. Wellington has also won the WBBL with the Adelaide Strikers this year. Being only 25, she has a vast future ahead of her and is looking to extend this by spending time in New Zealand with the Brave. She also represented Otago before Covid-19 bought an end to non New Zealanders not being allowed into the country, meaning she couldn't carry on this after the 2019/20 season.


Phoebe Graham

Teams: Manchester Originals, Northern Superchargers, Nottinghamshire, Lancashire, Sapphires, and Yorkshire


Domestic Statistics:

List-A: 54 List A (37 wickets, BBI: 3/14)

T20: 52 T20s (42 wickets, BBI: 3/8)


Phoebe Graham is a right-arm medium bowler, who currently represents Lancashire, North West Thunder and the Manchester Originals in the Hundred. In 2022, in the Women's Twenty20 Cup, taking 13 wickets at an average of 10. Graham will be looking to continue this fine form in 2022, to help the Brave to a Super Smash title. Graham will be able to use her knowledge and experience in new conditions to help grow the young Brave bowling attack.
