The second T20I between New Zealand and Bangladesh has been rained off.
The Blackcaps got off to another bad start with the bat as Finn Allen perished in the second over for 2 from 5, Shoriful Islam picking Allen up. Islam has had him out in the last three innings that Allen has played against Bangladesh.
Tim Seifert then went aggressive from here on smashing six fours and a six during his 43-run contribution. Seifert had a couple of big overs near the end of the powerplay with the fourth over going for 11 runs, the fifth for 13 runs, and the sixth for 12 runs.
He however fell in the eighth over as he tried to go for a big shot but was caught by Najmul Hossain Shanto off the bowling of Tanzim Hasan Sakib.
Daryl Mitchell and Glenn Phillips saw New Zealand through to the end of the eleventh over of the game when the rain hit and play was eventually called off at 21:55. Mitchell finished on 18* and Phillips on 9*.
The third T20I begins on Sunday at 13:00 NZT with Bangladesh leading the three-match series, 1-0.
