Major changes throughout BLACKCAPS 24/25 season contract offers

New Zealand Cricket announced the 20 BLACKCAPS contract offers, with 4 offers coming to people who haven't yet received an offer in a previous season.

Rachin Ravindra has been offered a contract after a standout ICC Men's ODI World Cup in India. Will O'Rourke and Ben Sears join the contact offers after a successful summer for domestic and international teams. Jacob Duffy has also joined the contract offers along with Ajaz Patel re-entering the fray.

This comes with Kane Williamson, Lockie Ferguson, and Adam Milne making themselves unavailable for Central Contracts. Blair Tickner hasn't been offered a contract along with Neil Wagner retiring from international cricket.

Kane Williamson has instead been offered a "casual playing contract" by NZC for the 2024-25 season.

Henry Nicholls has had a below-average summer being dropped from the test team last summer. However, alternatives like Tim Robinson and Dean Foxcroft have been passed over for this contract offer.

Ajaz Patel has been offered a contract with a crucial tour to India in the next yearly cycle. He has performed well there becoming the 3rd person to take 10 wickets in one inning during a test match.

Jacob Duffy's contract offer has opened up an unexpected spot for Otago to take another player on contract this upcoming season. This may be Ollie White's ticket to getting re-offered a contract.

Selector and former Otago player Sam Wells was quoted saying: “These younger guys are the future of the team and it’s been encouraging to see their progress on the international stage.”

Domestic Associations will announce their men's contract offer lists on the 18th of July.
