Australian cricketer Maddie Penna has been announced as an overseas signing for the Canterbury Magicians in the Dream 11 Super Smash this season.
Penna has played 35 LA games and 66 T20 games since her debut in 2019. She has scored 886 runs in LA games @30.55 with a high score of 118. She has made 2 hundreds and a fifty in the format. In her 66 WBBL games she has scored 779 runs @29.96 with a highest score of 57*. She has made four fifties in the shortest format of the game.
She made her WBBL debut for the Melbourne Stars in the 2019/20 season before moving to the Adelaide Strikers in the following season. Penna has also played for the Australian Capital Territory side in the WNCL between the 2019/20 season and the 2021/22 season. She now represents South Australia in the WNCL.
Penna also bowls leg breaks and has taken 13 wickets in T20s with a best of 4/20. She has also taken 10 LA wickets with a best of 2/12.
She was the first player to score a WBBL fifty from the position with a knock of 56 from 33 balls and her knock included an over of 24 runs.
