International Experience in NZ XI Squad to Take On South Africa
The New Zealand XI squad has been named to take on South Africa in a three-day tour match at Lincoln’s Bert Sutcliffe Oval.
Kyle Jamieson will join the team for one day in the field during the match as he continues his return from a hamstring injury.
Otago have found themselves with seven players from the association named out of the 13. This is due to Dream 11 Super Smash fixtures taking precedence. Jacob Duffy and Dean Foxcroft join Jamieson as the three players with Blackcaps experience.
Up-and-coming wicket-keeper Max Chu, opener Jacob Cumming, and spinner Ben Lockrose all find a place in the squad.
Luke Georgeson, Leo Carter, Jake Gibson, and Michael Snedden are the other players who have featured in Super Smash action this summer.
Matt Boyle, Bharat Popli, and Sean Davey are the other three players selected for the side. Whilst they haven’t featured in Super Smash action, they have found themselves in red and white ball squads for their associations this summer.
The Central Stags and Auckland sides, unfortunately, find themselves without any players selected for the side this time.
Popli will captain the side that is being coached by NZC High-Performance Network coach Bob Carter. He will assisted by Auckland Hearts coach Rob Nicol and Canterbury Magicians assistant coach Fred Anderson.
