The Blaze have booked a grand final spot with a victory over the Brave-W whilst the Brave-M had a great bowling innings to get the win.
Wellington Blaze vs Brave Women:
In a game that was reduced to 17 overs, the Brave were able to get off to a fast start through openers Chamari Athapaththu and Jess Watkin.
They were able to take Northern to 29 runs in the first 2.2 overs as Jess Watkin and Natasha Codyre took some early tap. However, it was Kerr who struck with the wicket of Watkin for 12 runs.
Athapaththu and Caitlin Gurrey were then able to continue on the momentum through their second wicket stand worth 38 runs.
It was mainly Athapaththu who was doing the major damage and took the sixth over of the game off Nicole Baird for seventeen runs.
Amelia Kerr then struck with the wicket of Gurrey for 10.
Leigh Kasperek then had success in her first over with Jess Kerr giving the ball to Kasperek to run out Athapaththu for a quickfire 45 from 20.
Sam Barriball found herself out the following ball as she went for one from four.
Eimear Richardson and Marina Lamplough did their best to get Northern back into the game but Wellington was bowling tight to restrict Northern.
Baird had success in her second over with Richardson falling for 14. Wickets kept coming for the Blaze as Kasperek got Lamplough (13) and Amelia Kerr got Carol Agafili (1).
Kasperek was given the last over and went for eight runs whilst taking the wicket of Marama Downes (4).
Northern Brave posted 118/8 from their 17 overs.
The Blaze lost the early wicket of Jess McFadyen falling to Shriya Naidu for five.
Rebecca Burns and Amelia Kerr then steadied the ship with a solid 94-run stand for the second wicket as they raced to a 50-run stand in just 31 balls with both players scoring at well over a run a ball.
Watkin did pick up the late wicket of Burns for 42 from 30 but the game was already heading in the way of a win for Wellington.
Amelia Kerr and Georgia Plimmer were able to see the Blaze home with an eight-wicket win. Kerr finished on 73* and Plimmer on 2*.
Wellington Firebirds vs Brave Men:
Wellington lost an early wicket with Nick Greenwood falling for 1 as Zak Gibson got the wicket.
From there on they stumbled to 27/6 with Scott Kuggeleijn, Matt Fisher, and Gibson getting the wickets.
Rachin Ravindra (3), Nick Kelly (6), Mo Abbas (4), Michael Bracewell (9), and Callum McLachlan (0) the players to fall.
Jesse Tashkoff and Nathan Smith were able to restore the Wellington innings with a crucial 43-run stand for the seventh wicket but Northern was able to keep getting the wickets with Gibson getting the breakthrough as Smith was caught in the deep by Henry Cooper for 26.
Tashkoff then went two runs later for 17 as he was bowled by Tim Pringle.
Peter Younghusband and Logan van Beek then were able to see Northern close to the 100-run mark but Freddy Walker got Younghusband for 13.
Iain McPeake made his first Super Smash runs and also his first boundary but edged off to Peter Bocock off Kris Clarke for six.
Wellington posted 102/10 from 18.3 overs with van Beek on 12*.
Katene Clarke and Cooper got Northern off to a solid start but van Beek had the first wicket of the innings with Clarke falling for 13 as van Beek picked up his 150th T20 wicket.
The score was moving on steadily for the Brave until Cooper and Jeet Raval took 18 runs off a Bracewell to get them past the 50-run mark with eight overs into the game.
Smith got his first wicket of the day as he trapped Cooper LBW for 25.
With Northern edging closer to the score a victory for them was looking increasingly likely until Bracewell struck with the wicket of Raval for 28.
However, for the Northern Brave, Bocock and Brett Hampton saw the side home with a seven-wicket win and more than four overs left.
