The Northern Brave Women have announced the signing of Sri Lankan international captain Chamari Athapaththu for the 2023/2024 Dream 11 Super Smash.

Athapaththu has a solid international record playing 220 games for Sri Lanka across ODIs and T20Is combined. She has contributed 3255 runs in ODIs with a high score of 178* against Australia, whilst she also rolled the arm over occasionally taking 28 wickets with her right arm off-breaks.


She has also played 122 T20Is for her country, scoring 2651 runs with a high score of 113. In the T20I she also has taken 40 wickets with best figures of 3/17.


Athapaththu will likely be inserted into the Brave’s top order and as she is one of the only left-handed players in the competition, she will be trouble for opposition bowlers. Athapaththu will link up with the Brave in time for their fixture against the Wellington Blaze on January 2nd 2024.
