Allen Excites Hamilton, Milne Gets Four as New Zealand Take Victory

New Zealand have won the second T20I with a victory off the back of a Finn Allen 50 and an Adam Milne four-wicket haul.

New Zealand got off to a solid start with the bat through Finn Allen and Devon Conway getting the home side off to a quick start.

Allen once again reinforced his attacking nature early as he took Haris Rauf for 18 runs from the fourth over of the game.

Aamir Jamal got Pakistan a wicket inside the powerplay with Devon Conway falling for 20 from 15 deliveries.

Kane Williamson and Allen were able to continue the fast that the openers had formed, but a big moment came during the drinks break with Williamson who experienced some tightness in his right hamstring.

Allen went a couple of overs later after making his 4th T20I 50. Usama Mir bowled him for 74 from 41.

Wickets kept falling for the home side with Abbas Afridi getting his first wicket of the day as he bowled Daryl Mitchell for 17 and then Abbas had another wicket with Chapman falling for four.

Harris Rauf bowled a brilliant nineteenth over taking the wickets of Glenn Phillips (13), Adam Milne (0), and Ish Sodhi (0). Shaheen Shah Afridi then backed this with a seven-run last over and Azam Khan ran out Mitchell Santner for 25.

New Zealand struck early in their bowling innings with Saim Ayub (1) and Mohammad Rizwan (7) falling early to Tim Southee and Milne respectively.

Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman then started to take the game away from New Zealand with a massive 87-run stand for the third wicket.

They took to the New Zealand bowling attack with the last three overs of the powerplay being taken for 13 runs each before 19 runs came off the over following the powerplay.

Milne then struck with the big wicket of Fakhar for 50 from 25 and then Sears had Iftikhar Ahmed for four to leave Pakistan at 106/4 with eight overs left.

Sodhi got the wicket of Azam Khan for two and he also had Jamal for nine with Pakistan finding themselves six down and in serious trouble of losing.

Babar and Shaheen Shah Afridi took to Santner in his last over as he went for 17 runs to propel Pakistan to over 150 runs.

Babar though found himself walking back to the pavilion for a well-made 66 with Ben Sears getting the wicket and Southee taking the catch.

Milne took two wickets in his final over with Afridi out for 22 and Usama Mir for a golden duck.

Southee was able to finish off the innings with the wicket of Abbas Afridi for seven giving New Zealand a 2 nil series lead.
